Kathmandu, Dec. 23, 2025: To mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Nepal, the “World Intangible Heritage” Himalayas Cultural and Creative Products Promotion and the China–Nepal Cultural Products Sales Center were officially launched in Kathmandu on December 23, 2025.

Co-hosted by the Nepal National Pavilion (China) and the Arniko Society, the event celebrated shared Himalayan heritage while promoting cultural exchange and creative collaboration between the two countries. More than 120 guests from cultural, business, and academic sectors attended, including senior Nepali officials, representatives of the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, and leaders from cultural institutions.

Speakers highlighted the importance of intangible cultural heritage as a bridge for people-to-people connections and sustainable development. The event showcased cultural and creative products from China’s Himalayan regions, emphasizing heritage preservation, innovation, and cross-border cooperation.

A key highlight was the inauguration of the China–Nepal Cultural and Creative Products Exhibition and Sales Center in Kathmandu, which will serve as a long-term platform for cultural exchange and product distribution. Several cooperation agreements were also signed, focusing on cultural tourism, talent development, and heritage promotion.

The event also featured a panel discussion titled “Shared Beauty, Shared Heritage: Revitalizing Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Himalayas,” bringing together heritage practitioners from both countries.

This initiative marks the first large-scale introduction of cultural and creative products from China’s Himalayan regions to Nepal. Additional exhibitions and interactive activities will take place in Kathmandu and Pokhara in the coming days, further engaging the public and strengthening China–Nepal cultural and economic ties.
